abstract

an iodide ion-selective pvc membrane sensor based on copper (π)-bis-nphenilsalicyldenaminatocomplex as a novel sensing material is successfully developed. theelectrode showed a good selectivity for iodide ion with respect to common inorganic anions. thesensor exhibited a good linear response with slope of _58.6 ± 0.4 mv per decade over theconcentration range of 5.0 × 10-6 to 1.0 × 10-1 mol l-1, and a detection limit of 3.0 × 10-6 mol l-1of i– ion. the electrode response was independent of ph in the range of 3.0 - 10.0. the proposedsensor was applied as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of i– with ag+ ion, and todetermine the iodide in sodium chloride salt.

Highly selective iodide electrode based on the copper(II)-N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-1,2-bis(p-aminophenoxy)ethane tetradentate complex.

In this paper, a new PVC-based liquid-membrane anion-selective electrode based on a copper(II) of N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-1,2-bis(p-aminophenoxy)ethane tetradentate complex (Cu(II)BBAP) is described, which displays a preferential potentiometric response to iodide ion at pH 2.0 and an anti-Hofmeister selectivity sequence: I->SCN->ClO4->NO2->H2PO4->NO3->SO4(2-)>Br->Cl-. The electrode exhibits a ne...

Highly selective iodide membrane electrode based on a cerium salen.

A highly selective PVC membrane electrode based on a cerium-salen complex was prepared. The sensor displays an anti-Hofmeister selectivity sequence with a preference for iodide ion over many common organic and inorganic anions. The proposed electrode exhibits a near-Nernstian behavior over a wide concentration range (5.0 x 10(-2) - 8.0 x 10(-6) M) with a slope of 57.5 mV per decade, and a detec...

Cu(II) Ion- Selective Membrane Electrode Based on bis(N-salicylidene-3,3'-diamino diphenyl) sulfone

In order to study the Cu(II) ion selective electrode, an optimized membrane was prepared by mixing of 30 mg of PVC powdered, 5 mg of considered ionophore, 60 mg of plasticizer and 5 mg of additive. The sensor showed a near Nernstian response for Cu(II) ions over a concentration range from 1.0×0-6 –1.0×0-2 M with a slope of 28.90.5 mV per concentration decade with a working pH range of 3.5-6.3. ...

Highly Selective Perchlorate Membrane Electrode Based on Synthesized Schiff Base Complex

In this work we introduce a practical use of synthesized Schiff base metal complex in sensing application. A new perchlorate-selective electrode based on the complex N, N'-4-nitro-phenylmethanebis-(salicylaldiminato) copper (II) [CuL] as the membrane carrier was developed. The electrode exhibits a good  Nernstian slope of -55.0 ± 1.0 mV/decade and a linear range of  for perchlorate. The lim...

Perchlorate-selective polymeric membrane electrode based on bis(dibenzoylmethanato)cobalt(II) complex as a neutral carrier.

A synthesized bis(dibenzoylmethanato)Co(II) complex (Co(DBM)(2)), has been used as a ionophore for the preparation of a new perchlorate ion-selective electrode. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian response over the perchlorate concentration range of 8.0x10(-7)-1.0x10(-1)M with a slope of 60.3+/-0.5 mV per decade of concentration. The limit of detection as determined from the intersection of the ...
